Web Version (MASTAN2-Web)

MASTAN2-Web is a comprehensive, browser-based implementation of the MASTAN2 structural analysis software. It brings the power of advanced second-order inelastic linear and nonlinear analysis capabilities, including GMNIA, to the web, offering a fully offline, interactive, and platform-independent environment for students, researchers, and engineers.

This project is a faithful port of the original Standalone/MATLAB version of MASTAN2, preserving its numerical accuracy and analysis capabilities while introducing a modern, responsive user interface and improved 3D visualization.

Installing MASTAN2-Web as an Independent Desktop Application

MASTAN2-Web can be installed as a standalone desktop application (Progressive Web App) in major modern browsers. This provides a clean, dedicated window without browser tabs, address bar, or toolbars, closely resembling native desktop software. The application retains full offline functionality and all structural analysis capabilities.

Installation Steps

Step 1: Open your preferred browser (Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Apple Safari, or Mozilla Firefox) on your desktop computer and navigate to the MASTAN2-Web application at https://www.mastan2.com/web.

Step 2: Install the web app using the browser-specific method below:

• Google Chrome Click the three vertical dots menu (⋮) in the upper-right corner, then select Cast, save and share > Install page as app....

• Microsoft Edge Click the three horizontal dots menu (⋯) in the upper-right corner, then select Apps > Install this site as an app.

• Apple Safari (macOS Sonoma 14 or later recommended) Click the Share button in the toolbar (or choose File > Add to Dock from the menu bar), then select Add to Dock.

• Mozilla Firefox First install the free "PWAs for Firefox" extension from the official Firefox Add-ons store, then follow the extension's on-screen prompts to install the site as a standalone application.

Step 3: In the dialog that appears, optionally customise the application name (for example, "MASTAN2-Web") and click Install or Add.

Once installed via any of the above methods, MASTAN2-Web will appear as a separate application on your device and can be launched directly from your operating system's Applications menu, Dock, taskbar, or desktop shortcut.

Note: This installation feature is supported on the latest versions of Google Chrome (Windows, macOS, and Linux), Microsoft Edge, Apple Safari (macOS), and Mozilla Firefox (with the PWAs extension). After installation, no internet access is required; the application operates fully offline with all structural analysis capabilities available.
